A fun, energetic post-natal workout with good tunes and good people.
Coming along to a specialised post-natal fitness class, you’ll be rest assured that your exercise session is both safe and effective for you (and really good fun too!).
What is FitBuggies HIIT?
FitBuggies HIIT is an indoor high intensity interval training class designed for post-natal mums. With some great tunes playing (but not too loud for babies), a safe indoor environment, lots of different resistance equipment and other like-minded mums, you are in safe hands
What can I expect from each session?
Our FitBuggies HIIT Classes include aspects of Cardio, Bodyweight, Circuits and Resistance Training designed specifically to safely introduce you back into exercise whilst improving Core Stability, Cardio-Vascular Fitness and all over Strength whilst addressing all of the issues and associated risks that pregnancy and labour can create, and a great opportunity to meet other local mums. Each session is finished with a cool down and stretch out.
Are the sessions suitable for me?
All FitBuggies HIIT sessions are designed by pre and post-natal specialists to ensure that each workout delivered can be adapted to the individual needs of the new mum.
Our trainers will asses each individual to ensure that the level they are working at is appropriate for their fitness levels and stage of post-natal recovery. However, we do require all participants to have had their 6/8 week check with their doctor and be cleared for exercise.
High Impact Vs High Intensity?
High Impact exercises should be avoided whilst you are post-natally recovering. This includes exercises such as jumps, squat thrusts, full burpees, star jumps, running, small trampoline classes, etc. This is because the pelvic floor is not ready to adequately support you upon impact.
High-Intensity is absolutely fine for post-natal mums, as long as the exercises given avoid all of the above and are post-natal safe. Our instructor Chloe has over 10 years experience teaching pre and post-natal women, arming her with the knowledge and ability to prescribe and modify each exercise to the clients/customers level of recovery whilst also ensuring they get a good workout.
Our FitBuggies HIIT course starts on Monday 14th of January for 5 consecutive weeks, with the last session on Monday 11th of February. Each session is from 10:00-10:55am.
Jubilee Centre, Catherine Street, St Albans, AL3 5BU. There is no on-site parking however it is extremely close to the town centre and there are lots of multi-storey car parks nearby.
What do I do in-between classes?
We also run an outdoor post-natal class on a Tuesday 11:00-12:00.
